Eating disorders — NIMH overview
Anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and ARFID: the diagnostic distinctions and what evidence-based treatment looks like.

Eating disorders carry some of the highest mortality of any mental health conditions and remain widely misunderstood. NIMH's overview is direct about that, and clear that they affect people across genders, ages, body sizes, and racial groups despite the persistent stereotype of who 'has' them.
The treatment section is unusually concrete: family-based treatment (FBT) for adolescent anorexia, CBT-E for several adult presentations, and the importance of treating medical and nutritional aspects in parallel with psychological work.
