How to support someone in your life living with a mental health condition without losing yourself in the process.

NAMI's family and caregiver portal is one of the few resources written specifically for the people who are not the patient. It covers communication, crisis response, navigating involuntary hospitalization, and the long, often-ignored work of taking care of yourself while taking care of someone else.
NAMI also runs a free education program for family members (Family-to-Family) that has good evidence behind it.
Mental Hum's library is a curated index of authoritative third-party resources. The summary above is our own framing; the full information lives at the source.
